{"id":10094,"date":"2025-09-09T21:13:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T19:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jwforum.net\/portal\/?p=10094"},"modified":"2025-09-09T21:16:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T19:16:24","slug":"15-jehovahs-witness-members-killed-in-imo-road-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jwforum.net\/portal\/15-jehovahs-witness-members-killed-in-imo-road-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"15 Jehovah\u2019s Witness Members Killed in Imo Road Crash in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At least 15 members of the Jehovah\u2019s Witness congregation lost their lives yesterday evening in a tragic road accident at Awomama Bridge in Imo State.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10095\" src=\"https:\/\/jwforum.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/U3laIxh.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1135\" height=\"717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jwforum.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/U3laIxh.png 1135w, https:\/\/jwforum.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/U3laIxh-750x474.png 750w, https:\/\/jwforum.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/U3laIxh-300x190.png 300w, https:\/\/jwforum.net\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/U3laIxh-768x485.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1135px) 100vw, 1135px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The victims, who were returning from their annual assembly in Uli, Anambra State, were travelling in a commercial bus when it was struck by a trailer reportedly driving against traffic around 6.45pm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eyewitnesses said the impact was so severe that all the passengers in the bus died on the spot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Confirming the incident, officials said the remains of the deceased have been deposited at a morgue in the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area, whose community lost several members in the crash, expressed shock and grief.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis is a dark day for our people,\u201d he said. \u201cThese were fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters who had just finished worship and fellowship. To lose them so suddenly is heartbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Residents of the affected Agwa community in Oguta were thrown into mourning as families received news of the fatalities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Community members gathered at homes of the deceased this morning, consoling relatives and lamenting the sudden loss.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Police authorities have yet to issue a detailed statement, but investigations into the cause of the crash are said to be ongoing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At least 15 members of the Jehovah\u2019s Witness congregation lost their lives yesterday evening in a tragic road accident at Awomama Bridge in Imo State.
