Theo was 47 years old, ‘too young’ the doctors had said. But in fact, Theo had been requesting a prostate test since he was 42, only to be told it was unnecessary given his age.

Theo was now a statistic.

Theo’s prognosis:

2 months to 5 years

Although older men typically die from old age and not from prostate cancer itself, it is not the case for younger men.

In Theo’s case, the prostate cancer had metastasized and spread so quickly that it affected 80% of his bones.

The first months after the diagnosis, life was almost normal. With medication, the pain was controlled.

On Friday, December 17th, 2010,

after a lovely evening spent with family, suddenly Theo doubled over in pain.

This was the beginning of the debilitating pain, the physical deterioration, the loss of work and the impact on the social aspect of our lives.

Theo began chemotherapy treatments on Thursday, June 2nd, 2011. He was scheduled to start a second round of treatments on November 22nd, 2012 when he was told his body was too frail to handle it.

I need your help to get Theo this alternative treatment as quickly as possible. If I could do it on my own, I would, but life has thrown me curve balls and has put me in a position where I need to ask for your help. Your generosity will bring me a step close to helping the love of my life.

http://www.theosfight.com

A bit about Theo and me, his wife, Debbie: We were a normal couple with ups and downs: busy, hard working, living our lives to the fullest and making plans for the future.
