Brother Morris, ( member of the Governing Body). \u00a0Wasn\u2019t raised in the truth. \u00a0In fact discussed his experiences in Vietnam. \u00a0Raised three sons. \u00a0In other words, he understands real life. \u00a0But, very pointed counsel.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Word for word, \u201cBrothers and sisters if you are not doing family worship night, you will not be ready for survival at Armageddon. \u00a0The Governing Body has worked hard to convey the seriousness of this arrangement. It cannot be underestimated. \u00a0Now you have a choice whether or not you will listen to the counsel\u2026.but remember, you\u2019ve been warned.\u201d\u00a0<\/div>\n

In another part of the talk he asked, \u201cTime and unforeseen occurrence befall us all. \u00a0You could die this afternoon. \u00a0As you sit there are you certain that your course of life would guarantee that you are in Jehovah\u2019s memory and you would receive a resurrection?\u201d \u00a0Then he talked a lot about materialism. \u00a0He said it\u2019s not wrong to have a house\u2026but \u00a0are you caught up in the American dream that you have to have a house? \u00a0Then he went in and talked about the bursting of the housing bubble and the govn\u2019t giving houses to people who shouldn\u2019t have had them\u2026.no verification of income\u2026.not adequate income, etc\u2026.and he said many brothers and sisters got caught up in that ( Two years before the bottom fell out\u2026.we had a Circuit Assembly about keeping our lives simple\u2026.those that followed Jehovah’s counsel have survived so much heartache.)<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
So what about today\u2019s counsel\u2026..the \u201cTime Left is Reduced\u201d\u2026is our theme\u2026will you follow the counsel today? \u00a0The way you live your life in these hard economic times, does it show you are trusting in Jehovah for your necessities? \u00a0Or does it show you are trusting in yourself and your material things – \u00a0taking matters into your own hands.<\/div>\n

He then gave an experience of a sister he met when they were still doing circuit work. \u00a0A middle age sister\u2026very faithful. She invited them \u00a0for lunch to her small and simple apartment. \u00a0Now he said he knew the sister had a nerveous problem\u2026.somewhat of a mental condition\u2026.like an anxiety disorder\u2026but he never knew why and didn\u2019t ask. Through the course of conversation, she relates that she used to have a house. \u00a0And she was bent on having the perfect house. \u00a0Perfect decorating\u2026perfect furniture\u2026everything just so. \u00a0She came home one night and her entire house was engulfed in flames. \u00a0She lost everything. \u00a0As a result, she had a nervous breakdown and has never fully recovered. \u00a0She said after that it taught her a lesson and she vowed NEVER to be that attached to material things because she realized how fleeting these things are. How attached to material things are you? \u00a0How would you feel right now if you lost everything?<\/div>\n

Then he discussed the importance of daily Bible reading. \u00a0He said that he, \u00a0and Sister Morris, no matter where they are in the world, every morning have their cup of coffee and read their Bible. \u00a0Not together. \u00a0He said Bible reading is a personal thing. \u00a0He then asked the audience how many have a cup of coffee every morning? Almost the whole audience raised their hand. \u00a0Then he said, bros. and sis. If you can have a cup of coffee every morning, then you can read your Bible every morning.<\/div>\n

Also in talking about materialism, he talked about debt and credit cards. \u00a0He pulled out his credit card. \u00a0He said now we have to have a credit card today. \u00a0Even I have one. \u00a0You can\u2019t even rent a car without one. \u00a0But you know what credit cards are? \u00a0Plastic ANESTHESIA. \u00a0Why is that? \u00a0Well, let\u2019s say you need some clothes. So you go to the store to buy them knowing how much you want to spend. \u00a0But you get there and the retailers, because it\u2019s their job, have signs all over\u2026\u201dTwo for One\u201d \u201c50% off\u201d\u2026suddenly you think, well\u2026.I don\u2019t need two\u2026but if they\u2019re 50% off..then I should probably get two for when I need them later\u2026oh wait\u2026I\u2019ll get one for my husband\u2026and the kids of course\u2026walk up to the cash register\u2026..the cashier swipes the card\u2026and guess what\u2026pain free. \u00a0The card swipes\u2026you feel nothing\u2026and you leave\u2026.until the bill comes. \u00a0Now imagine when you go to the store you counting out the actual cash you \u00a0are spending\u2026.little more painful isn\u2019t it?\u2026Suddenly the reality of how much you\u2019re spending is real\u2026and you\u2019re feeling it. \u00a0Be careful of credit cards. \u00a0If you don\u2019t have the cash to back up the credit card swipe, don\u2019t spend it.<\/div>\n

He talked about being in the truth for a long time\u2026.we\u2019re always getting counsel. \u00a0We always need to be making adjustments. \u00a0He said often times I hear.. “Well Br. Morris\u2026this is just the way I am!!!!\u201d<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Jehovah may not like the way you are. \u00a0(the audience started laughing) \u00a0He said this is not a union. \u00a0Seniority doesn\u2019t mean salvation.<\/div>\n

He repeatedly said with all his counsel\u2026.this is not the Governing Body saying this – this is Jehovah speaking to you. \u00a0He also kept saying after each point of counsel, \u201cRemember\u2026it\u2019s YOUR choice whether or not you will listen\u2026.but just know\u2026.You\u2019ve been warned.\u201d<\/div>\n

He also emphasized remembering that the day of Armageddon has been set. \u00a0Nothing about our life is going to change that day. \u00a0If we preach more\u2026it\u2019s not going to change that day. \u00a0That day has been set. \u00a0So, when we\u2019re going through hardships, be careful that you don\u2019t say, \u201cif only Armageddon would come I wouldn\u2019t be going through this.\u201d\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Remember, it\u2019s not about you. \u00a0 It\u2019s about Jehovah\u2019s Universal Sovereignty.\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
And don\u2019t say, \u201cI hope that Jehovah holds out a little longer so that Uncle John will make it through.\u201d \u00a0Jehovah said when the anointed are sealed, the angels will release the four winds. \u00a0Nothing about when Armageddon comes depends on us or our lives. \u00a0We just need to obey and keep preaching. \u00a0<\/div>\n

He gave the example of the huge project that\u2019s being done in Wallkill. \u00a0He said that they just showed the Bethel family a 15 minute video about the renovation and new building project \u00a0that will be done over the next 4 years. \u00a0He said after the video was shown he overheard a dear old sister who\u2019s been there forever say, \u201cwell, I guess that means Armageddon won\u2019t be coming \u00a0in the next four years.\u201d \u00a0He said, now I didn\u2019t say anything to her and embarrass her in front of everyone, but I thought to myself, \u201coh my goodness we approved the showing of that video and I don\u2019t remember that being part of the dialogue.\u201d \u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
So, that night he went back and re-watched it. \u00a0He said, “Brothers and Sisters \u00a0– we are going to be in the midst of Kingdom activity when the end comes. \u00a0We will be building, we will be preaching, we will be planning conventions, building Kingdom Halls\u2026\u2026there\u2019s not going to be a pause when the end comes. \u00a0We need to keep going\u2026.keep carrying out Jehovah\u2019s will. \u00a0And I\u2019m pretty sure when the end comes no one is going to say, \u201cOh no\u2026..we didn\u2019t get to attend that convention. \u00a0I was so \u00a0looking forward to it.\u201d \u00a0Keep putting Kingdom interests first.<\/div>\n

Then at the end he talked about how ready are we for the end.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Are we really ready?\u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Is our faith really strong?\u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We need to make adjustments now. \u00a0He said, I was in Vietnam. \u00a0I have seen mass death….human casualties. \u00a0I have smelled burning human flesh after a helicopter crash. \u00a0I saw only a glimpse of what it will probably be like at Armageddon. \u00a0We must be prepared.<\/div>\n
