Accra, April 15, GNA – More than 18 million people worldwide are expected to congregate at the Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses to observe the memorial of Jesus Christ’s death, on Sunday, April 17, 2011, after sundown.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The event, which would be organised in more than 107,000 congregations and in many languages worldwide, would focus on how mankind can benefit from the ransom sacrifice by Jesus Christ.<\/div>\n

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Friday, ahead of the event, Mr Samuel Gaskin, News Service Co-Ordinator of the recent District Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Accra, said a bible talk on the theme: “Jesus Takes Away the Sin of the World” would be given at this very important event.\u00a0<\/div>\n

“This talk will answer among many, the following questions: “Why did Jesus have to die to save sinners? What did he achieve by willingly giving up his life? Who benefits from his death? And what can his death mean for you?”<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/div>\n
Mr Gaskin said: “The event would enable all in attendance to reflect on the value of the two greatest expression of love shown in the universe. Firstly, the love shown to mankind by our heavenly father Jehovah God by allowing his only-begotten Son to die for us; and secondly the love Jesus showed in giving up his life willingly for our salvation.”<\/div>\n

He appealed to families, friends, relatives, acquaintances and the public to attend the event at the nearest Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in their locality.<\/div>\n

Each year, the Witnesses gather to commemorate Jesus’ death in obedience to the direct command to all Christians found at Luke 22:19 and last year, a peak attendance of 18,706,895 was recorded.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Many who have attended the memorial have been impressed with the orderliness with which the meetings have been conducted and the way family members sit close to each other.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Admission to the meetings of the Witnesses is free, and no collections are taken. The meetings are opened up and closed with Christian songs and prayer.<\/div>\n
