Have you ever wondered what is the most translated website in the world? Spoiler alert: it’s NOT Wikipedia.
Most organisations are aware of the importance of having a multilingual website. They know that translating the website into many languages is the most obvious way to reaching to a wider audience of people. Some organisations have the possibility and feasibility to translate their website into more languages than others and we were curious to learn which website supports the most languages in the world.
We have researched and compiled a shortlist of the most translated websites, and we were surprised by the findings. We decided to share the list with our blog readers.
World’s record: Jehovah’s Witnesses
If there would be a World Guinness Record for the world’s most translated website in 2022, then the winner would be Jehovah’s Witnesses website.
It might sound shocking and unbelievable, but the jw.org website is available in 1,068 languages in 2022. That makes jw.org the most translated website with a world record that will be hard to be beaten in the foreseeable future.
For comparison, BBC news is available in only 44 languages.
Second most: Wikipedia
If you were wondering what’s the second most translated website in the world, the answer is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia, created and edited by worldwide volunteers and it delivers content and information in 326 different languages. Here you can find a detailed list of all the languages supported by Wikipedia.
Third in the list: Google
The websites of the tech giants that operate worldwide such as Google, Facebook, Apple, Samsung, etc are also translated into over 100 languages. Google’s search page is available in 149 languages, and that makes Google’s search page the third most translated website in 2022.
